Baiklah, kita kembali ke Teks Procedure (procedure text) bertujuan menerangkan cara membuat atau melakukan sesuatu berdasarkan serangkaian langkah atau kegiatan.

Tujuan Procedure Text;

-Untuk menunjukkan bagaimana sesuatu dilakukan melalui urutan langkah yang memungkinkan pembaca untuk mencapai tujuan.

-Untuk memberitahu pembaca bagaimana melakukan atau membuat sesuatu melalui urutan tindakan atau langkah-langkah 

Structure teks procedure ialah;

1. Aim/ goal (Tujuan) : Dapat berupa judul

2. Material : Bahan dan alat Yang diperlukan. Namun, tidak semua teks procedure memerlukan ini. Bagian ini dapat diberi label ‘’You will need’’, ‘’Ingredients’’, atau ‘’Supplies needed’’. 

3. Steps : Langkah-langkah untuk melakukan kegiatan (teks procedure). Bagian ini juga dapat diberi label ‘’what to do’’, ‘’method’’, atau ‘’intructions’’.

Ciri-ciri teks procedure;

Menggunakan the simple present tense, biasanya berbentuk kalimat imperative.

Menggunakan kata hubung temporal, seperti first, second, then, next, finally, dll.

Menggunakan action verbs, seperti turn on, stir, cook, ect.

Contoh teks procedure

How to Make Apple Pie

Ingredients;

1) One box Pillsbury™ refrigerated pie crusts, softened as directed on box.

2) 6 cups thinly sliced, peeled apples (6 medium).

3) 3/4 cup sugar.

4) 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour.

5) 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon.

6) 3/4 teaspoon salt.

7) 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg.

8) 1 tablespoon lemon juice.

Steps;

1) Heat oven to 425°F. Place 1 pie crust in ungreased 9-inch glass pie plate. Press firmly against side and bottom.

2) In large bowl, gently mix filling ingredients; spoon into crust-lined pie plate. Top with second crust. Wrap excess top crust under bottom crust edge, pressing edges together to seal; flute. Cut slits or shapes in several places in top crust.

3) Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until apples are tender and crust is golden brown. Cover edge of crust with 2- to 3-inch wide strips of foil after first 15 to 20 minutes of baking to prevent excessive browning. Cool on cooling rack at least 2 hours before serving.
